IFA 2018 photography for Vestel.

Updated: Aug 19, 2019

The IFA is one of the biggest trade fairs for consumer electronics in the world. This business event takes place every year at the Messe in Berlin. I was asked to be the Business Event Photographer for Vestel, the biggest electronic producing company in Turkey. They had 3 different stands at the fair which covered over 3000m2 meters of the events floor. I was responsible for the photography and videography of these stand. I covered the photography part, and for the videography I asked my friend Nick Leeftink from Condept to join me.

When you are the photographer for such a big stand, for such a big company, you are also the eyes for the organization when they need to reflect on the event. This means that sometimes they need your photos to see how the stand was set up. And make decisions based on your content for future fairs. So for me it was really important to cover every aspect of the stand. One photography tip is to start big and end small. As a business event photographer, it is also very important to try and capture the interaction with the visitors. The screens of the products at the trade fairs stand from Vestel had different contents on them from time to time. That was also an important point to keep in mind, since they wanted photos of the different contents.

We attended the business fair for 3 days. On the last day we decided to have a look at the rest of the stands of the fair to seen what the other companies had to offer. We discovered that Vestel had one of the biggest and most impressive stands of the whole business event. We were really exited to work with such a big and amazing company during this exposition. In my career as an event photographer, this was one of the highlights of all the trade shows i’ve taken photos off this year.
